ARTfotografie is originated by Fabio Martorelli from Engi, Glarus. Fabio was born on May 30, 1982. Glarus is a small county in the Swiss Alps located southward of Zürich. His roots reach to Sardinia, one of the most beautiful islands of the Mediterranean area belonging to Italy. 
From 1999-2002, Fabio was doing an apprenticeship as a car mechanic. After that, he learned how to paint cars too and was doing this job until 2006. At that time he decided to make some changes in his live and took a six month break to learn English in the USA. 
After coming back home he found a job as service engineer at Rieter one of the leading companies building textile systems all over the world. Hence, he could travel to Turkey and South Korea. After a while, he became the offer from ABB to install high voltage products for their company, so he took the chance.

The first steps in photography Fabio made in the year 1998 at high school. 
His hometown provides a variety of flora and fauna where he could gain experience with the camera. Also his job as a car painter helped him to understand how to play with light and colors. During his journey in the USA he was fascinated by the landscapes. Travelling from the west coast (LA) to the east coast (Miami) by car his wish to take great pictures of what he was seeing became stronger. 
Hence, photography became his passion and is covering the biggest part of his spare time. During his stays in different countries he tries to get some impressions of other cultures and landscapes. In the time at home, he is rather busy taking portraits of people.
